Had a really amazing day we were shown small villages around Monchique (and Monchique itself). We made several stops up the mountain until we got to the top. Throughout the tour, we had several laughs and were taught about the wildlife, flora and history. The guide was able to answer all of my questions with extensive knowledge and made everybody feel more than welcome. At the top of the mountain, we could see all the way from Faro to Lagos (on one side) and then all the way to the West Coast of Portugal. We got to try free liquors and shop at gift stores on the way. I really couldn't recommend the trip enough great value for money and the guide hopped between a few different languages, so it's fine if you don't speak Portuguese!

António, our guide/driver, is very knowledgable and an enthusiastic guide. At only €39pp this is a spectacular tour, but weather dependent. We were lucky and got spectacular views from Foía as well of Monchique and the spa resort of Castal del Monchique. Most enjoyable!

I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone who is interested in visiting Monchique and the surrounding area. Antonio was very friendly and knowledgeable. The view from the top of Foia is amazing! I thoroughly appreciated the hotel pick-up and drop off as I had not rented a car and the air conditioned van was definitely appreciated with the heat. I would recommend bringing an empty water bottle so that you can fill it up at the springs in Caldas de Monchique and definitely try the fire water - it’s an experience in and of itself!
