Long way to get there from Amalfi however Pompeii and Vesuvius are a must to visit. Come much history to learn from and to climb the volcano (to the top) helped by the bus that takes you to 900+ meters up - you have to walk another +/- 300 meters, totally worth it. The view is extraordinaire and there was activity at the top. Be prepared to walk a lot. On the downside, the excursion does not include lunch however you have to eat so they make you stop at a local restaurant to eat “they have negotiated a deal with the restaurant owner (bring cash, they don’t take credit card, strange nowadays) and at the end of the tour, they stopped at a local hotel to visit a local jewellery artist - insinuating that we were stopping for a last toilet break before hitting the road. We found this very strange and somewhat inappropriate as this was never mentioned in the activity. Great day in general but beware.

The transportation was very confortable, spacious, A/C, safe. Our guide did a great job leading 2 groups at the same time, English speaking and Italian, she was very nice to all of us and with a good sense of humor. Upon the arrival at Pompeii, we were left to take a coffee, use the bathroom. Before the departure to Vesuvius, our guide took us to a local restaurant, very affordable and nice where we could cool down a little thank to the A/C. We didn't need to worry about anything, the tickets are included in the tour.
